  •   The TU40 series slant bed design, whose saddle slideways and tailstock guideways are independent, has a unibody slant construction with four 45-deg. slanted quideways. This double closed-beam construction is used to increase the bed rigidity and decreasing excessive weight. The headstock has been assembled so that it is parallel with the 45 deg. slant bed guideways to minimize thermal displacement.
